Electricity Supply Level 2 qualification review

Title: New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Introductory) (Level 2) with strands in Electrical Works, Telecommunications, and Wind Farm

Reason for review

A technical advisory group met in July 2023 and endorsed the following changes:

1. Remove the ‘other requirements’ section: Candidates enrolled in the Electrical Works or Wind Farm strand require an Electrical Workers’ Registration Board Trainee Limited Certificate when commencing this programme.
   This change allows people to gain the qualification whether or not they are employed in roles where a TLC is required.
2. Remove the Telecommunications strand of this qualification. The minimum standard to work on the access telecommunication network is the New Zealand Certificate in Telecommunications (Level 3).
3. Change the name and contact details of the qualification developer to Waihanga Ara Rau.
