Hayden’s role is to support and partner with Māori businesses and industry to help drive success. He looks after engagement with the Wellington, Manawatu-Whanganui, Taranaki and South Island RSLGs (Iwi/Hapū/Māori lens). Hayden is a strong believer in vocational education and bringing a holistic view to the learner journey, qualifications and industry needs.

Looking to the future, Hayden says, “By collaborating with Iwi and Māori businesses, we can ensure a stronger voice in industry. We need a greater opportunity for Māori to enter training and employment within the construction and infrastructure sector. I would like to see a fit-for-purpose and future-proof vocational education and training system that is relevant and equitable to the needs of Māori and industry.”
