The Waihanga Ara Rau Workforce Development Council will be closing operations from 19 December, and disestablished from 31 December 2025. The Energy and Infrastructure Industry Skills Board; Construction and Specialist Trades Industry Skills Board; Electrotechnology and Information Technology Industry Skills Board will pick up its functions.

Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Supervision

New qualification

Waihanga Ara Rau has worked with the Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Technical Advisory Group to prepare a new qualification to cover the skills required by TTM personnel who implement traffic management plans (TMPs) and lead teams to complete operations on a TTM worksite.

This was submitted to NZQA for approval in December 2025. This project transitioned to the Energy and Infrastructure Industry Skills Board to respond to any requests for further information and update stakeholders.
