We are reviewing the Crane unit standards to make sure they’re fit for purpose.
As part of this process, we will be replacing the Crane unit standards with skill standards. We want to make sure the skills and knowledge included in these standards reflect current industry practice and are future proofed.
To make sure the qualifications are also fit for purpose, we will be making any changes needed to align the new skill standards with graduate profile outcomes of the qualifications. The first qualification we are looking at is the New Zealand Certificate in Cranes (Level 3).
Industry representatives have recognised the need for a smaller credential that introduces people to the Crane industry and pathways them into employment. The development of this micro-credential will take place alongside the standards review/development.
Do you have broad knowledge and skills in the Crane industry? Are you a trainer or assessor involved in Crane training? We would love to hear from you if you would like to contribute to this mahi.
