NZ Certificate in Glazing L4

Qualification review

We want to hear from you!

We are revising the NZ Certificate in Glazing L4. If you have interest in this review and wish to provide comment, please submit your feedback by 28 April 2024.

Reason for review

The NZ Certificate in Glazing L4 was last reviewed in 2019 and is structured to focus a glazier on one of two strands– residential and commercial.  Due to industry-wide changes in practice, technology, and specialisation, this structure presents barriers to apprentices completing their qualification.

Our work to address barriers for apprenticeship completion proposes:

  • Removal of the residential and commercial strands
  • Inclusion of three new graduate outcome statements
  • Inclusion of the term ‘non-specialist glazing’

This project also includes revision of some glazing standards and the development of micro-credentials that recognise specialist glazing competencies. An opportunity to give feedback on the revised standards and proposed micro-credentials will come in early May.

Please email your feedback on the review of the NZ Certificate in Glazing L4 to [email protected] by 28 April 2024.
