What we did

Waihanga Ara Rau is developed a new Electrical Supervision micro-credential in partnership with tangata whai mana across industry, education, and regulation. We:

Why this matters

This micro-credential establishes a clear and trusted pathway for electrical workers to gain formal recognition of their supervisory skills. It supports safer worksites, stronger career development, and better alignment with regulatory expectations. Most importantly, it ensures industry voices shape how supervision of prescribed electrical work is defined, taught, and recognised.

Gaining a Supervision Endorsement

For graduates of this micro-credential there are additional legislative requirements to supervise two or more electrical workers carrying out prescribed electrical work. On successful completion of this micro-credential, learners/ākonga will be able to apply for registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) to supervise two or more workers completing prescribed electrical work while controlling for electrical hazards and managing risk.
