micro-credential development

Supporting career development for electrical workers

We’ve developing a micro-credential aligned to the EWRB competencies for supervisors of prescribed electrical work. Industry developed competencies will form the first draft of this micro-credential.

How you can help

We’re seeking industry feedback to ensure that the newly developed micro-credential is fit for purpose before our submission is made to NZQA. Your input is key to making sure these skill standards reflect industry good practice.

Why this matters

This micro-credential will establish a clear and trusted pathway for electrical workers to gain formal recognition of their supervisory skills. It supports safer worksites, stronger career development, and better alignment with regulatory expectations. Most importantly, it ensures industry voices shape how supervision of prescribed electrical work is defined, taught, and recognised.
