Qualification and standard review

We’re conducting a scheduled review of the New Zealand Certificates in Wind Farm Maintenance qualifications and associated standards.  This project commenced in September 2025 and is due for completion in November 2025.

What’s happening? 

  • Review of these qualifications to ensure they continue meeting industry needs and remain fit-for-purpose. 
  • Review of associated unit standards to ensure they continue meeting industry needs and remain fit-for-purpose.

  • 28 November: Submission to NZQA 

How to get involved

Join our Technical Advisory Group

We’re seeking industry experts to join our Technical Advisory Group, including: 

  • Employers: Wind farm operators and electricity generators 
  • Training providers: Organisations delivering wind energy training 
  • Equipment suppliers: Turbine manufacturers and maintenance specialists 
  • Industry bodies: Professional associations and regulatory bodies 
  • Government agencies: Policy and regulatory representatives 

Time commitment includes:  

  • Workshop 1 (mid-October) Participate in a 2 hour workshop 
  • Workshop 2 (late-October) Participate in a 2 hour workshop 
  • If required (3 Nov) Additional meeting if needed (45 minutes)  
  • If required (24 Nov) Additional meeting if needed (45 minutes)  
  • Other (Oct – Nov) Occasional email updates and feedback requests
