Waihanga Ara Rau coordinates the assessment material for unit standards 32619 and 29484, the “capstone” assessments for trainees at the end of years one and two, respectively. These WDC capstone assessments are the only valid assessment tools for these unit standards.
These assessments are intended to be completed by ākonga/learners off-job under exam conditions. They are not to be made publicly available.
Copies of Electrical Capstone Assessments will only be provided to one academic member for each Tertiary Education Organisation (or subsidiary). Requesters will be asked to verify they are the delegated staff member to request the assessment(s) and their organisation has CTA for the assessments requested.
Unless otherwise requested, assessment material will be available in June and November each year.
If your organisation would like copies of the assessment material, please complete this form.
Responsibilities for the administration of these capstone assessments will be transferred to the Electrotechnology and Technology Industry Skills Board (ISB) in 2026. The systems in the ISB will need time to be established, so an interim determination has been put in place until unit standards 29484 and 32619 are reviewed.
The interim determination delegates setting and moderating these assessments to providers with consent to assess for these standards.
Tables of exemptions and credit transfer for unit standards in electrical programmes are now available for download. These tables have been developed to assist providers in giving credit for previous achievements.
