Scaffolding

up to five metres in height consultation

We’ve worked with the scaffolding technical advisory group to review the existing scaffolding up to five meters unit standards (US 9184, 13016 and 13053) and develop the replacement “scaffolding up to 5 metres in height” skill standard, to improve safety, consistency, and clarity across industries. Before finalising this standard, we’re inviting industry stakeholders and providers to share their feedback.

We’re excited to share with you the draft of the skill standard “Erect and dismantle scaffolding up to five metres in height”

Skill Standard- Erect and dismantle scaffolding up to five metres in height (Level 3) (Credits 10)

This skill standard is intended for those who use scaffolding systems in restricted contexts that do not require a Certificate of Competence or notification to WorkSafe New Zealand, and are likely to be involved in construction and related trades. It is not for people intending to become professional scaffolders.

The existing unit standards are set to expire on 31 December 2027.
