Waihanga Ara Rau is seeking feedback on the newly developed NZ Certificate in Streetscape Paving (Level 4).
This qualification is to equip people with the expertise to deliver high-quality, sustainable paving solutions in urban spaces. The qualification components, Graduate Profile Outcomes (GPOs), credit values, and skill standards for are now open for wider industry consultation to ensure they meet current and future workforce needs.
The purpose of the New Zealand Certificate in Streetscape Paving (Level 4) is to recognise the skills and knowledge required to plan, prepare, and carry out streetscape paving work as per industry standards. It is intended for paving professionals working in civil or construction environments who want to formalise and advance their skills in this specialist trade.
Total Credits: 210 (or approximately 3 years of Work-Based Learning)
These draft standards outline the proposed structure for a paving qualification, including newly developed skill standards and links to relevant existing core construction skill standards.
Where specified in qualifications, skill standards serve as mandatory “building blocks” that ensure consistency and quality in learner outcomes.
Please note: while the existing standards are not new, we welcome your feedback of the suitability of these skills standards for this qualification.
